We have heard many objections to using a specialist 3D firm including some of the following. Here is how we overcome them.

We don’t want to lose control!

Let us reassure you now – you will not lose control! The process is collaborative. You supply the design resources. We work up a model and provide you with drafts. You make comments and we edit the model. And so it goes until YOU are happy with the final images.

What if we don’t like it and the costs blow out?

We quote for every job before we begin. This quote will take you through to an image where you are content with how it looks. We would only start charging over and above this quote when the scope changes.

It’s not going to look exactly how we want it to look.

While our product is always going to be subjective to some degree, we are very experienced at what we do. We have all the resources and skills to achieve what you want; it just comes down to good communication. The draft process helps you communicate the areas that we have not got quite right, so we can correct them.

Computer modellers have bad taste!

Everyone at One to One Hundred has an architecture degree. We have a furniture library full of the modern classics. We even subscribe to architecture magazines! Your render is in good hands!

How long will it take?

We are specialists and are fast at what we do. We have the resources to achieve what you want quickly and efficiently. Obviously the time depends on the size of a project, but some projects can take as little as a week.

We already have a model.

Most architectural modelling programs will let you export a file that we can use in our software. Let us start with your model and add the drama. This way you enjoy the cost savings of already having a model, but still receive a professionally rendered image.

We do it in-house normally. It saves us money!

Why distract your resources from their core business? Place the responsibility on our shoulders and free up your staff to do what they do best. You can rest easy that the quality will be of an extremely professional standard and have the assurance of a quicker sale with better marketing.

You don’t care about our project!

We care very much about our work. We are proud to be producing some of the best architectural 3D work in New Zealand and this care comes through in every job we do. We care about our images the way you care about your design.

Our contract fee won’t cover a specialist 3D firm.

Disburse the cost! Marketing is not usually covered in an architectural contract.

You won’t be able to understand our design.

Our architectural backgrounds have given us an excellent understanding of how buildings are put together. We are highly proficient at reading and interpreting working drawings, and we’ve built some very complex models in the past. Just click here to see some examples.

Our building will be too difficult to model.

Whilst architectural modelling programs such as ArchiCAD and Sketchup may have their limitations when it comes to amorphous forms, the sky is the limit with our software - 3ds Max. No project is too difficult – we love the challenge!

What if I want to change the design?

Changing the design may incur extra cost depending on the scope or when you change your mind. Our quote always includes some room for minor tweaks to the design. After all, this could be the first time you will have seen it in 3D.

What constitutes a change?

A change to the design from that presented in the original documents from which our quote was formed is considered a change to the scope of work. The draft process should ensure that the composition, materiality and form etc are correct. Changes to materials are generally easy but changes to form require extra modelling. The cost of these changes is at our discretion but a fee will always be negotiated before we commence with these changes.

We can’t get 2D drawings from your model.

Our software is purely for visualisation. That’s why it does it so well.

We’re not ready for marketing.

Computer models are useful as design tools and to help get projects through Urban Design Panel Reviews and Resource Consent. Our Services page explains the many services we provide to get a development through these major milestones. The models are also adaptable and can be improved and added to as the design is resolved to produce marketing images in the future.

We can’t afford it.

You’ll never know until you get a quote. And the value of a great rendering should far exceed the cost!
