We encourage companies and individuals to give us a call or an email just to discuss a project. We can help explain what form of 3D work would best suit your project, and the time, cost and most importantly value involved.

Briefing us

In order to provide you with a quote, we need a concise visual description of your building and a brief. The description should include scale plans and elevations in pdf/dwg format and any 3D sketches or renderings you have already. The brief should outline what output you would like from us: whether you want still images or an animation, how many images you want or need, what angles you want for these images etc. We do not require finished construction drawings although we should be informed if these will be made available because better documentation leads to lower costs and faster delivery.

Quoting

We will take your brief and expand on it in detail in our quote. The quote will outline what you will receive as a final product and contain examples of our work that are similar to your project for reference. We will express any limitations and provide you with suggestions above and beyond your brief of how we might be able to give you the best possible final product. Quotes will be broken down as much as possible to show the different cost scenarios. We price all jobs based on an estimation of the number of hours your project will take us given the resources provided. We carefully record hours spent on your job under a number of different production stages. This information is available on request. You will receive a notification email when we have passed 70% of the allotted hours.

If you present extra resources after the quote, it is possible that these will change the scope of work on which we based our original fee.  You will be informed when we consider something to be a change in scope, and notified in advance what extra charge may be involved. Any adjustment to the fee will be agreed upon by both parties before we undertake the extra work.

Resources

Once the quote is accepted we will require resource material to build the computer model accurately. This includes plans and elevations in dwg or dxf format, sections if they are available, floor to floor heights and a colour/material schedule. If we are doing a photomontage or an interior scene with a specific view, we will require the image in jpeg format as large as possible. We suggest 7 megapixel or more. Many firms produce accurate and detailed 3D models in the process of documenting a building. If these models can be made available in dwg or 3ds formats, there may be a cost saving involved as it may reduce the modelling time required. Large files can be uploaded to our website rather than emailed.

Drafts and mark-ups

We will regularly send drafts by email for client approval unless otherwise organised. Drafts should be returned by email with any comments or changes as soon as possible. Scanned prints with hand written notes are preferred. Animation drafts will be uploaded to our website for client to download.

Final Product

Still images are presented as jpegs or tiffs. All images will be at a minimum of 3000 pixels width but larger images can be produced as required. Animations are presented in .wmv (Windows Media) and/or .mov (Quicktime) formats. We can output to dvd or even full High Definition if required. On completion of the project, the final product will be available to download immediately from our website. The final product will also be mailed to you on DVD. We can also resize images and animations for web use.

Payment

For international clients we require a 50% progress payment to be made by credit card or bank transfer at the half way stage of the project. ‘Half way’ will be agreed upon by both parties based on the level of finish of the drafts. The final product will not be issued until this first payment has been received. The remaining 50% will be due once client has indicated their satisfaction with the final product. Final product will be issued for confirmation with a watermark which will be removed upon final payment. A change to scope of works during the job will incur an additional cost. This sum will be agreed upon by both parties and will be billed with the final invoice.

National Clients have two weeks to pay their invoice as per the terms and conditions on our quote and can pay by cheque or bank deposit.

Quotes and payment will be in NZ currency.
